Emirates Post Group pays tribute to UAE martyrs on 1st Commemoration Day

Emirates Post Group organised a special ceremony to mark UAE Martyrs' Day in implementation of the directive of His Highness the President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan by lowering the national flag to half-mast as a tribute to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the service of the nation in the military, civil and humanitarian field, from 8.00 am to 11.30 am, in response to the decision of the Ministry of Presidential Affairs.

At 11.30 am the employees observed one minute's silence in memory of the souls of UAE martyrs as an expression of solidarity with the families of the martyrs.

Acting Chief Executive of Emirates Post Group, Mr. Fahad Al Hosani, said Martyrs' Day is a perfect way of paying tribute to UAE martyrs who upheld the values of loyalty. He said that Emirates Post Group, in association with the Office for the Affairs of Martyrs' Families, part of the office of the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, has issued a special postage stamp to commemorate first Martyrs' Day. The stamps are available in all post offices from November 30.

All employees participated in the ceremony, led by Chief Support Services Officer of EPG, Mr. Sami Al Khaja.

Martyrs' Day is being observed in the UAE on November 30 every year to salute the martyrdom of Emirati heroes who lost their lives defending the sovereignty of the nation, as per a decree issued by the President His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
